I am dedicated to upholding the exceptional quality of life within Ventura County while striving to enhance the efficiency, accountability, and transparency of the county government. My primary objectives include fostering secure neighborhoods, attracting new employment opportunities for the middle class, tackling the significant issue of homelessness, and safeguarding our natural landscapes and ecosystems.

I have placed an item on the upcoming Board of Supervisors agenda to preserve current senior programs and pause the proposed transition of the Area Agency on Aging Administration while further evaluation takes place. 2nd Annual District 2 Awards
Join Supervisor Jeff Gorell for an evening honoring exceptional individuals from District 2 who exemplify outstanding leadership, service, and courage in our community. This year all proceeds will support the Gold Coast Veteran’s Foundation Mobile Unit that supports homeless veterans.

Today at the Ventura County Board of Supervisors meeting, we were proud to recognize Sergeant Dillan Alvarez as our Employee Spotlight Moment of Inspiration.
With 26 years of service in the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Alvarez has dedicated his career to keeping our communities safe while also making a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
Through his work with MANDO Youth Development Group and other community partnerships, he has helped mentor at-risk youth, build trust, and create positive pathways forward.

Local high school students with the Podium Movement recently joined us at a Board of Supervisors meeting to share their ideas for strengthening mental health support on school campuses.
Today, we continued that important conversation at my office, bringing students together with our County Executive Officer Dr. Sevet Johnson, Behavioral Health Advisory Board Member Dianne McKay, and Director of Public Health Nursing Seleta Dobrosky to discuss their ideas and explore ways to better support young people in our schools.
It’s inspiring to see students using their voices, bringing forward solutions, and engaging directly with local leaders. The future is bright with young people like these leading the way.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect for most of the rest of Ventura County, including many coastal areas. Temperatures of 90–100°F are expected, with warm overnight temperatures providing limited relief.
